Sazh Katzroy is a playable character in Final Fantasy XIII and a minor character in Final Fantasy XIII-2. After his wife's death three years prior to the events of FFXIII, Sazh is responsible for raising his six-year-old son, Dajh. Like Serah Farron, Lightning's younger sister, Dajh is cursed with being a l'Cie and becomes the primary motivation for Sazh's quest.
In Final Fantasy XIII, Sazh teams up with Lightning to reach the Pulse fal'Cie in the hopes that its destruction would save Sazh from his fate. This causes him to be turned into a Pulse l'Cie along with Lightning and the others. In Final Fantasy XIII-2, Sazh and Dajh are sucked into a vortex and find themselves in Serendiptiy. It is through the realm's owner that he appears in Academia [500 AF] and helps Serah and Noel Kreiss pursue Caius Ballad at the game's end.
