The first layer under the surface is the Underground Layer. The background of this layer is characterized by walls littered with many small rocks. While Clay Blocks are few, Dirt and Stone Blocks are the most common type of Blocks that can be found in this Environment.
The enemies in this layer are much tougher than those at the surface. In hard mode, a player can also expect the Underground to get converted to Hallow or Corruption.
