Goombas are one of the most common enemies in the Mario series, appearing in pretty much every platform game. In Mario 3D World, they are more aggressive than in the older games, as if they see a character, they will continually chase after that character. They can be defeated by about any kind of attack, such as jumping on them or hitting them with one of the powerups.
