As with any Mario game, there will be plenty of bosses for the player to fight. As Bowser is likely involved in the game's plot and will be a boss, he has not been confirmed yet.
There was only one boss that was shown, which is some kind of serpent boss. Players defeat it by using the Cat Suit and climbing up the heads of the smaller serpents, then jumping onto the head of the bigger serpent and doing a ground pound. Doing this three times, as per the usual Mario boss, will defeat it and make a warp pipe appear to the flagpole.
