Fire Bros. are Hammer Bros. that throw fireballs instead of hammers. Their appearance in Mario 3D World is their first in a 3D Mario game outside of a spinoff game. They originally spit fireballs in their first appearance in Super Mario Bros. 3, but this was changed in their next appearance in New Super Mario Bros.
