The Hookshot was first introduced to the Zelda series in A Link to the Past, and will be returning in A Link Between Worlds. It can be seen in the screenshot above, in the Item Shop.
The Hookshot fires out a large hook attached to a chain. When it manages to hook onto certain surfaces or objects, Link will fly towards that destination.
