Donkey Kong Country is a platform video game developed by Rare and originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System on November 21, 1994 and was later ported to the Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance and Wii Virtual Console. Although Shigeru Miyamoto was still involved with the project, he didn't produce or direct the game, with Tim Stamper being the producer instead.
In this game, Donkey Kong and his nephew, Diddy Kong, must recover the stolen banana hoard from King K. Rool and his Kremlings. They embark on an adventure throughout the island meeting many friends and various foes along the way.

Gameplay
Donkey Kong Country is a 2D side-scrolling platformer. Players take control of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in an effort to retrieve Donkey's stolen Banana Hoard. Both characters can be on the screen at once, and although players can only control one at a time, they can switch between the two.
