Attitude Era Mode replaces the Road to Wrestlemania mode from previous years, and allows you to play as one of many different superstars from that era. This mode will play out the Monday Night Wars with WCW, although the main focus will be on the WWE and its wrestlers.
The matches and in-game cutscenes are enhanced by video packages edited by WWE's own editors. These allow players to experience the entire story of the feuds and history of the era.
MATCHES
Matches in this mode will have both main and secondary objectives. Main objectives just include simple things, such as winning the match by pinning the opponents. Secondary objectives, which are optional, will include things such as hitting your opponent with a chair. Fulfilling these optional objectives will unlock a bunch of extra content. Some optional objectives are even hidden, to prevent the player from knowing how the matches originally played out (assuming they haven't seen it).
Matches will be commentated by Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler.
STORYLINES
The game won't feature every single storyline in the Attitude Era, it will attempt to recreate the most iconic moments of the era. This starts from when Degeneration X (DX) formed, in late 1997, through Wrestlemania XV, two years later. The mode will be split into chapters featuring DX, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley, The Rock, Kane, The Undertaker, and Bret Hart.
