The Playstation Store is the PS3's marketplace for users to buy content for their system. It offers games, demos, downloadable content, videos, avatars and XMB themes, as well as other content. Content can be purchased with a credit card or by purchasing pre-paid Playstation Network cards, which can be bought online or in stores, in denominations of $10, $20 and $50.
In October of 2012, Sony announced that a redesign of the Playstation Store would be released and finally launched in November of 2012. This redesign is a more modern take than the previous store, allowing easier navigation. In early 2013, Sony launched the Playstation Store on the PC, giving users the ability to purchase content and have it on their Download List, with the future ability of having the content downloaded remotely.
