Diablo III features two auction houses. The gold auction house allows users to spend the gold they collect within the game to purchase items for use in the game, while the real-money auction house offers items for sale for real world currency. There are three separate real-money auctions houses in each of the game regions-The Americas, Europe and Asia. These houses are completely separate from one another and do not trade items between houses. There is an additional gold-only auction house that is available only to Hardcore characters. These characters cannot access the real-money auction houses or the original gold auction house.
