Bat was an orphan who was thrown in jail with Kenshiro at the beginning of the series. He respects and looks to Kenshiro as an older brother figure, eventually following him on his adventures. He is an expert with mechanical things, as well as mischievious. As an adult, he trained himself by mimicking Kenshiro's moves, and uses his own improvised fighting style with some of Kenshiro's moves mixed in.
