The PlayStation 4's user interface was partially shown during the PlayStation 4 reveal event. A few days after the event Sony also released a handful of screenshots to illustrate the new UI.
The PlayStation 3's XMB has been replaced with an entirely new UI that has been custom-built for the PlayStation 4 and is called the Playstation Dynamic Menu. It will not support the dynamic themes as they currently exist on the PS3. Notifications that appear on the PDM can be turned off and on individually, or as a whole.
