When you appear outside of the Great Deku Tree, he will start talking to you and ask if you want to listen to his story. Say "Yes" and he will talk about the creation of the universe, as well as a man dressed in black armor. After it's all over, he will give you the Kokiri Emerald and tell you to go to Hyrule Castle to meet with the Princess of Destiny.
Go back to the village and Mido will stop you, accusing you of killing the Great Deku Tree. Anyways, go to the opposite end of the village and take that exit. You should be on a bridge, and you stop to talk to Saria. She will give you the Fairy Ocarina, which you can use to play some songs, when you learn them.
Link will automatically exit to Hyrule Field, which is a big, open area that connects to a lot of other areas. Go around the corner and you'll be stopped by Kaepora Gaebora, an owl that will give you some hints. Make sure you tell him not to repeat it, as his speeches are usually long.
HYRULE FIELD
Hyrule Field is a very large, open space and you might feel the need to explore it. Ideally, you will want to get to Hyrule Castle before night arrives, as the drawbridge will go up and you will have to wait until daybreak for it to drop again. Instead of following the dirt road, go straight ahead over the little hill.
Keep going until you hit the entrance to the castle's town. If night does arrive before you make it, Stalchildren will pop up from the ground and attack you; two sword hits (one Jump Attack) will destroy them. For every 10 you kill, a giant one will pop up, which is no different than the others. Note that if you stand on the edge of the drawbridge as it's going up, you will receive a Red Rupee. Go inside the castle town.
