After you're finished in Lon Lon Ranch, head back to Hyrule Field. Head to Kokiri Forest, which is the exit in the middle on the east side of the map. When you get inside, play the Sun's Song and head behind the house up the ramp, to the right. There is a Gold Skulltula there, so kill it, target it and then use a Jump Attack to collect it.
THE LOST WOODS
The entrance to the Lost Woods is located at the north of Kokiri Forest. The way the Lost Woods work is that there is a preset path to various rooms (hearing music is the right path) and if you take the wrong "exit," then you will be set back to where you first entered the area. Take the first right and you'll come to a new room with a tree with a target attached to it. If you hit the center (100 points) three times in a row, a Deku Scrub will appear and give you a Deku Seeds Bullet Bag, which will give you a maximum capacity of 40 seeds for your Slingshot.
Go down the ladder and stand on the log there. Two Skull Kids will appear and play a mini-game with you. If you mimic their Ocarina notes, you will get a prize. For the first time you complete it, you get a Green Rupee; the second time gets you a Blue Rupee and a third time gets you a Piece of Heart.
For the right path to where you're going, from the beginning entrance, go right, left (Kaepora Gaebora stops you here), right, left, forward, left and then right. This will put you in the Sacred Forest Meadow, where you'll have to fight a Wolfos. The gate will open upon its defeat, so use your minimap to navigate the little maze, taking care of any Deku Scrubs in the way. When you get to the clearing at the other end, you'll meet up with Saria, who will teach you Saria's Song.
CLEANING UP
Take a wrong exit when you return to the Lost Woods to exit the area and back to Kokiri Forest. Enter it again and head left to find a stump with a Skull Kid standing on a taller one. If you get on the stump and play Saria's Song, he will give you a Piece of Heart.
Go through the other exit in this room and you'll see a soft soil patch and the bridge you used earlier in the game. Drop down and go to the other side of the area, where you'll encounter a Business Scrub. Do the same thing as you would with a Deku Scrub, then talk to it after. It'll sell you an upgrade to your carrying capacity of Deku Sticks for 40 Rupees. Once you have that, head back to the soil patch if you have a bottle with bugs, which will net you a Gold Skulltula. You can now leave the Lost Woods and Kokiri Forest.
