Battlefield 4 retains many of the series' most well-loved game modes, but also adds some brand new ones to the line-up. The following multiplayer game modes are confirmed to be present in Battlefield 4.
Conquest
Conquest has been a staple of the series since Battlefield 1942. The goal in Conquest is to capture neutral or enemy flags which will then serve as spawning points for you and your teammates. The more flags you hold the better. Eventually the goal is to reduce the enemy's reinforcement count to zero. The more flags you hold, the quicker the enemy team's reinforcement tickets are reduced.
Conquest Domination
Conquest domination is a variant of the Conquest game mode. Here the capture radius for flags is much smaller and points take much less time to capture. You are also only able to either spawn on a teammate or on a random point on the map.
Elimination
Elimination is a new game type set to make its debut in Battlefield 4, although no details have yet been released on it.
Obliteration
Obliteration is another brand new game mode set to make its debut in Battlefield 4. Again, no specific details have yet been released.
Playground
Playground is the third and final brand new game mode set to make its debut in Battlefield 4. Again, nothing is known about it at the time of writing besides its name.
Rush
In Rush, the teams are divided into Attackers, who have a limited number of respawns, and Defenders, who have unlimited respawns. The Attackers must attempt to arm and detonate two key objectives on the map. Once armed, the Defenders have 30 seconds to disarm the bomb.
Once destroyed, the Defenders must fall back and defend another pair of objectives, whilst the Attackers will again attempt to arm and trigger the devices.
In total, each map has between 3 and 5 sets of these objectives to be defended or destroyed. The round is over once either all of the objectives have been destroyed or the attacking team runs out of respawn tickets.
Squad Deathmatch
Squad Deathmatch features four separate squads facing off against each other at the same time. The first team to 50 kills wins the round.
Team Deathmatch
Team Deathmatch is similar to Squad Deathmatch, with teams attempting to reach the kill counter before the other team, however there are only two teams in this mode and the score goal can range from 50 to 500.
