The Infector is a necromorph whose primary function is to spread the necromorph infection. It is a winged bat like necromorph that latches itself to human corpses and turns them into necromorphs.
To stop the Infector from spreading the virus, you can either dismember its' wings, shoot it to death or dismembering it's infection causing appendage.
