Pods resemble small embryos and are used by the Guardian necromorphs as a means of self-defense.
When engaged, a single tentacle comes out of the pod and throws projectiles at its' attacker. While they are relatively harmless when alone, a group of pods can pose a serious threat. Cutting off the tentacle kills the pod immediately.
