Xbox SmartGlass was first unveiled at E3 2012. It is a companion application for a number of Microsoft devices, including Windows phones and tablets, the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and a number of Android and iOS devices.
Xbox SmartGlass allows these devices to be used as a second screen, which can be used to display additional data or act as a remote controller, depending on the game.
At launch, 6 Xbox One games make use of SmartGlass functionality, including Forza 5, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome.
