Dr. Wily's Castle is a new stage that will appear in both versions of the game, although there will be slight differences. One difference is that the 3DS version of the stage will take place during the daylight hours, while the Wii U version will take place at night. It is not known if there will be any other differences, though.
The stage, itself, is a flat stage with Wily's Castle in the background (presumably based on the Mega Man 2 version). Surrounding the main platform are mini-platforms that move and will occasionally disappear and even drop, so anyone standing on them will fall. There is one major hazard in the stage, which is the Yellow Devil, a boss character that appears throughout the Mega Man series.
The Yellow Devil will begin forming itself piece by piece on one side (the pieces can damage players) until it has completely assembled itself. Once it has, it will open its eye, fire a projectile, then start moving its parts to the other side, where it will repeat the pattern. This enemy is only vulnerable when its eye is open and the player who has dealt the final hit will make it explode similar to a Smart Bomb.
