Mushroom Kingdom U is a new stage, exclusive to the Wii U version of the game, that is based on New Super Mario Bros. U. Throughout the battle, Kamek will appear and perform some magic, which will change the layout and background of the stage itself. There are four variants shown so far, which are based on Acorn Plains, Rock-Candy Mines, Meringue Clouds and Slide Lift Tower stage.
Sometimes, a beanstalk will appear, with its leaves acting like additional platforms, but it will disappear after a few moments. Also, giant icicles will drop down, which will freeze any character it hits. These can be used as platforms, and they can also be destroyed. Lastly, geysers will spew up, sometimes carrying big Urchins.
- Acorn Plains - Flat main platform, with three suspended ones above it. Also, stretch blocks can be seen above the elevated platforms.
- Rock-Candy Mines - One flat platform that acts like a seesaw.
- Meringue Clouds - Two elevated platforms, as well as two main ones with a gap in the middle.
- Slide Lift Tower - Two platforms that move against each other, sometimes pushing players off.
