Tortimer Island is a new stage that is exclusive to the 3DS version of the game, based off the island in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The layout of the stage is completely random each time you play it, although there are some static objects. For one, the island itself is the arena and there are usually trees placed somewhere on the island. In the background, the shop can be seen and Tortimer, Leila and Leilani can also be seen by the shop.
Although there is water surrounding the island, players cannot swim in it and will fall as if it wasn't there. A shark can also be seen in the water at times, which will jump out at characters if they come near it, biting them and causing some damage. On either side of the island will be a dock, with Kapp'n coming and docking a boat, which can be used as an extra platform.
