There are three Unique weapons that you can gain by beating the bosses Mistral, Monsoon, and Sundowner over the course of the game. They can be costly to buy and upgrade but each one has a reason to be used. In addition, some have extra skills that can be bought to make the weapons even more versatile.
While the addition of extra weapons sounds great, there is a warning that comes with this. Raiden is most skill with his main weapon and using these weapons negatively impacts this skill. These weapons replace the use of his heavy attacks with the sword. In a game which relies so heavily on speed and quick reflexes, this can be devestating. This is not to say that these weapons should never be used but they should be used with care.
