The Sewers
Run straight ahead and around the corner but be ready for your first Mastiff. The Mastiff is quite agile and capable of jumping around the area with ease, including onto the ceiling or walls. Because of his size, reach, and agility, this is the point where you need to learn to Parry attacks because there's no other method that is consistantly good at defeating them. With the exception of their grapel attack, everything should be a parry.
When he's not attacking, hit him a few times. As you do damage, more and more of his limbs will start to glow blue. When they do, enter Blade Mode and cut them off. This will limit his ability to perform certain attacks. After enough damage, you can cut him in half like anything else. Just remember that you must parry because Ninja Run will not help you much against them.
After defeating the Mastiff, walk through the gate ahead and up the catwalk to the right in the next room. This will lead you to a point above a couple of Mastiffs. Wait for the distance one to turn around and then perform an aerial Zandatsu on the first Mastiff. With him destroyed, immediately head for the next one and take him out before he turns around and sees you.
Now that the sewers are clear, take a look at your map and you'll see a small hallway to your right. You can access it by cutting open either gate leading in. Inside this section, you'll find [VR Mission 2.1]. When you are done with that, go the other way and drop through the large sewer pipe.
In this lower level, be careful of the Dwarf Gekkos hanging from the ceiling. If you take it slow, you should be able to get them to fall just a few at a time, making them easy targets. Keep your eyes open for an [Item Box] on a pile of rubble on the right. If you return to the area where you dropped down after killing all of the Dwarf Gekkos, behind where you landed should be [Humanoid Dwarf Gekko 1 of 5]. Continue up ahead, cut through the gates blocking your path and you'll find another giant pipe you can drop down. Approach the pipe.
The Lower Levels
When you gain control, you'll be facing off against three raptor. Raptors are fast and have a variety of attacks. They'll make liberal use of their turrets if you get too far away so you'll need to alternate between attacking and Ninja Run to deflect bullets. They also have an electrical Pulse attack that they can execute that will stun you and deal damage if you are caught in the rather large radius. Aside from these attacks, they've got a variety of melee attacks consisting of both close range kicks and long range lunges.
Most of the attacks can be parried except for the pulse attack so get in there and start hacking away. As you fight and cause damage, you'll be able to cut off their legs but it's important to remember that this won't kill them. They are still quite capable of attacking while on the ground but this will still limit their effectiveness drastically.
When you've completed the fight with them, a few more Dwarf Gekkos will drop down to fight you but this really serves more to replenish health than fight.
Go up the hall and through the door on the left to continue. After going through the door, check immediately to the left to find [VR Mission 2.2] and then pick up the box on the right side of the room. Equip this in the inventory menu by pressing left or right on the D-Pad and then scrolling to it in the "Sub" category. With it equipped, hold the button indicated on screen to wear it. When you wear it, you'll not be detectable to Cyborgs and UGs. You'll not be able to move quickly or use your AR vision to see what enemies are doing so be careful.
Cut the door into the next area and use AR to figure out where the three Mastiffs are and what direction they are facing. walk into the room and onto the bridge when it is safe and then pull out the box. By moving slowly and being sure to watch all three enemies, you'll be able to sneak over and take out the Mastiff on the upper right side. Kill him and then you'll need to wait for the Mastiff on the lower level to return. Be sure to wait until the distant Mastiff jumps from the left side over to the right before attacking the Mastiff below. Kill the lower Mastiff and make your way across the lower level whenever the Mastiff is not looking. When you get close, wait for him to jump to the right side before running up the boxes and killing him.
Before leaving this long hallway, check about halfway along this room on the upper level. You'll see a large white pipe and on that pipe will be a [Blade Box]. Inside the Blade Box will be [Data 2.1]. Exit the area through the door below and then walk across the waterfall to the left to collect an item. Be careful in this area as there are Vodomjerka that patrol the lower water ways. If you use the box and move quickly, you should have no problem performing a Zandatsu on them but keep in mind that others will appear after you've killed one and they keep patrolling.
The Vodomjerka is an unmanned Gear that can glide across the water. It slides around a lot including horrizontally. It has a few melee attacks including spinning attacks that move quite a long distance towards you but the most common attack is the flamethrower. Simply Ninja Run sideways to avoid this attack. Most of the time, the easiest way to deal with these enemies is to just get right in under one of their arms. As long as you can stay close to them, they'll keep trying to hit you with their flamethrower and they'll just keep missing.
There's a small room in the center of the ring here that can be accessed by cutting through the door. Inside, you'll find a cardboard box that's a different color from the rest. Cut it open to find [Man in Box 2 of 5]. If you check the far side of the tunnels along the straight wall (about in line with the small center room on the map), you should find a section of wall that is off color and flickers a bit. Slide through there to get into the research facility.
Research Facility
Immediately inside the facility, you'll bump into two Gun Cameras on either side of the hallway. Simply cut through them one at a time as you make your way up the hallway. In the next room will be a staircase leading up and two more Gun Cameras on the upper levels. Approach them once they've turned and take them out. Enter the next hallway by using the panel.
You'll enter a hallway with glass on one side and have a quick conversation. At the end of this hall, open the [Item Box] on the left and then hit the panel on the right to open the door and enter the next area.
Inside, you'll find yourself on the upper level of a rather large room. Down below will be three Guards. Be ready to use your cardboard box and move to the right along the catwalk. A guard will walk along very close to the catwalk from right to left and you'll be able to set up a Zandatsu from up here. Wait for both guards to walk to their opposite sides so they won't see anything and then kill him but as soon as you do, put your box on. Wait for guards to walk past you again before taking the closer guard. Box it one last time and wait for the last guard to walk by. Run up behind him and kill him. With him dead, go into the room to the right.
After the cutscene, you'll find yourself back in the previous room with three cyborgs. They shouldn't be much more difficult than normal. As you fight through them, a fourth cyborg will appear. Keep track of him and save him for last because he has [Left Hand 2.1]. Cut it off when you have the chance. Before leaving the room, check the raised platform to find a [Stinger Missile]. Grab it and then go through the open door on this level. Inside that room on the shelf to the left, you'll find the Dwarf Gekko that Doktor was talking about earlier.
Dwarf Gekko
As the Dwarf Gekko, get by the guards and watch the wall to the right. You'll find a small vent that you can slide through (Ninja Run and Heavy Attack) to find [Data 2.2] and turn the corner to the left. Ahead and on the right, you'll see some shipping crates in the corner. Climb on top of the shipping crates to find [Data 2.3]. Continue through and up the stairs. On the upper level, walk around until you find the wall with the high hole on the wall. Jump up and you'll fly through the hole.
After you regain control of Raiden, the gate will open in front of you and the guards will be alerted. Cut through the Dwarf Gekkos and get ready for a small group of Cyborgs. Try to activate AR because on of the Cyborgs will have [Left Hand 2.2]. As always, just try and leave him for last to make collecting the arm much easier. With the combat out of the way, head up to the catwalk above and follow it to the end to find a [Blade Box]. Open it to find [Life+ 2 of 6]. The exit is a door on the lower level. Hit the switch to enter the next hallway.
Follow this hallway and after the quick chat, exit the far side to enter a large warehouse.
GRAD
Move ahead and GRAD will appear. GRAD is a rather tough UG. He will start out at the far end of the room and you'll have to sprint from cover to cover to get there. Stick to the side of the GRAD and attack it from there. Get close and start swinging but be prepared for GRADs counter attack. As long as you stay close, the missiles and bullets will go over your head and if you can successfully parry GRADs melee attacks, you can beat him back to the next section of the room. Secondary weapons will have no effect.
Once you've been GRAD to the next area, he'll change forms into a walking Gear. The strategy at this point is actually quite similar though with a bit more movement. Get close and start attacking and when you see the fits move up and outward, be prepared to parry. It will move in almost any direction and attempt to get distance so it can use it's various ranged weapons. When it does, you'll need to start a Ninja Run to deflect bullets and avoid the rockets that it will fire. Get close again and as you deal damage, you'll get the chance to cut off the various panels. Continue pushing the attack and you'll have it defeated in short order.
Exit
Activate the panel so you can leave this room. In the next hallway, open the [Item Box] on the left side. Around the next corner will be two Cyborgs and one of them will have [Left Hand 2.3]. Make sure to use AR to figure out which of them it is and then save him for last so you can be sure to get it. When they are dead, head for the room at the end of the hall. You'll enter a room with Crypods. After a chat with Doktor, turn to the right and you'll see [VR Mission 2.3]. Continue through the door ahead and to the right to finish the mission.
