The KSG is different than the other shotguns in the game, as it fires a single slug instead of the usual buckshot. This makes is slightly better than the others at a medium range. This weapon is unlocked at level 34 in the multiplayer, and there are a number of useful attachments for it.
The KSG is also unlocked during the single player campaign after finishing Karma. The single player version fires buckshot, unlike its multiplayer counterpart, though, meaning it follows the usual shotgun rule of dangerous up close, but less effective at farther ranges.
