Darknuts are large, armored foes that carry a Darknut Sword. They are considered one of the toughest normal enemies in the game, only because they take a short while to kill. Darknuts can strike Link with their sword, as well as basic martial arts moves when they have been disarmed. They will usually try to grab their weapon again if disarmed, as well as any other weapon laying on the ground.
The trick to defeating them is to remove their armor, which is easily done by parrying their attacks. Normally, the first parry will remove the helmet and the second will remove the rest of the armor, leaving them vulnerable to normal attacks. The Boomerang can stun Darknuts once their helmet has been removed. Darknuts can drop Knight's Crests upon defeat, and they can be stolen with the Grappling Hook as well.
