The Xbox Live Marketplace is a virtual market designed for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console that allows Xbox Live members to download purchased or promotional content.
The service offers movie and game trailers, a video store, game demos and trials, Xbox Live Arcade games, Xbox Live Indie Games, Games on Demand (Xbox 360 and Xbox Originals), downloadable content, gamer pictures, Xbox 360 Dashboard themes, and much more.
Microsoft Points are used as currency in the Xbox Live Marketplace. These points may be purchased with a credit card through the Xbox Live Marketplace, or redeemed from gift cards purchased at retail locations. Microsoft Points are sold in each country in the local currency. As of 2011, Microsoft Points can also be purchased by PayPal.
