Neutral creeps, also known as jungle creeps, are much tougher than the ordinary lane creeps detailed on the previous page. As the name implies, they are neutral and are not alligned with either team. Instead, they will attack any hero or lane creep that comes in range of them.
Much like lane creeps, however, they provide both experience and gold when killed. Heroes will 'farm' these creeps usually in one of two situations. Firstly, during the mid and late game when heroes wish to acquire as much extra gold and experience as possible. Secondly, there are heroes which excel at jungling in the earlier stages of the game, such as Chen or Enchantress. Often, these heroes will be expected to jungle from the start.
Neutral creeps (with the exception of Roshan) spawn at the 30 second mark and thereafter every minute. Creeps can be stacked. This is achieved by luring the creeps away from the spawn roughly 7 seconds before a new spawn is due. When they return to the spawning point a second set of creeps will appear there if done correctly (and as long as there is nothing blocking the spawning point, such as a ward or another hero).
Each team's jungle consists of 1 small creep camp, 2 medium creep camps, 2 large creep camps, and 1 set of Ancient creeps, which are by far the toughest and most bountiful creeps in the game.
Small Creeps
Small Creep camps are the weakest neutral creeps in the game and most heroes that commence jungling at level 1 will start with a small creep camp. They give a small amount of gold and experience but are relatively easy to kill.
The average small creep camp will net you ~80 gold and ~130 experience.
| Camp | Gold | Experience |
|---|---|---|
| Kobold Camp | 69-93 Gold | 141 Experience |
| Hill Troll Camp | 65-77 Gold | 123 Experience |
| Hill Troll and Kobold Camp | 75-89 Gold | 123 Experience |
| Vhoul Assassin Camp | 78-102 Gold | 123 Experience |
| Ghost Camp | 70-86 Gold | 144 Experience |
| Harpy Camp | 81-91 Gold | 144 Experience |
Medium Creeps
Medium Creeps are a fair bit tougher than small creeps and their camps are much harder to kill off, especially when your hero is a low level. They have more health, deal more damage, and tend to have more deadly/effective spells at their disposal than the small creeps.
The average medium creep camp will net you ~100 gold and ~200 experience.
| Camp | Gold | Experience |
|---|---|---|
| Centaur Camp | 86-102 Gold | 160 Experience |
| Wolf Camp | 81-97 Gold | 212 Experience |
| Satyr Camp | 84-100 Gold | 258 Experience |
| Ogre Camp | 89-155 Gold | 144 Experience |
| Golem Camp | 108-124 Gold | 238 Experience |
Large Creeps
Large Creep camps are harder still. The Centaurs are the only ones that qualify as both medium and large creep camps and can spawn at either set of locations.
The average large creep camp will net you ~120 gold and ~220 experience.
| Camp | Gold | Experience |
|---|---|---|
| Centaur Camp | 86-102 Gold | 160 Experience |
| Large Satyr Camp | 139-161 Gold | 284 Experience |
| Hellbear Camp | 136-158 Gold | 207 Experience |
| Wildwing Camp | 97-127 Gold | 169 Experience |
| Troll Camp | 106-128 Gold | 279 Experience |
Ancient Creeps
Ancient Creep camps are the toughest enemies found in the game, with the exception of Roshan (see below). They only spawn at two locations on the map - one on the Radiant side, one on the Dire side - have large health pools, deal a lot of damage and are immune to most forms of magic.
Because of their strength heroes will typically only attempt to kill of the neutral camps later on in the game, though there are some exceptions to this rule (for example, heroes like Tinker and Beastmaster have abilities which are effective at killing off Ancients and Ancient stacks early on).
The average ancient creep camp will net you ~260 gold and ~350 experience.
| Camp | Gold | Experience |
|---|---|---|
| Dragon Camp | 252-346 Gold | 279 Experience |
| Large Golem Camp | 215-245 Gold | 393 Experience |
| Thunderhide Camp | 257-271 Gold | 393 Experience |
Roshan
Roshan is the toughest creep in the game. He only spawns in one location (the 'Rosh Pit'). He spawns at the start of the game and then, every time he dies, respawns every 10 minutes.
Again, because of his strength, he can usually only be taken down later on in the game, or wth all five team members present (occassionally a team will attempt to Roshan at level 1 in order to gain a significant advantage over the other team).
When he is slain, not only does he give you gold and experience, he will also drop an Aegis of the Immortal, and on his third death and every death thereafter will drop a Cheese (for more information on these items, check out our dedicated Roshan Items page).
The average Roshan kill will net you ~350 gold and ~1790 experience:
| Camp | Team-wide Gold | Last Hitter's Gold | Experience |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roshan | 200 Gold | 150-400 Gold | 1789 Experience |
