This achievement simply requires you to buy a weapon upgrade. In contracts mode, go down to the "Unlocks" section and find your armory. Choose weapons and then pick a weapon that you already have. Choose to customize it and then choose one of the slots to upgrade. Select the slot and then select an upgrade that you don't already possess. This will get you the achievement.
