Explosives come in a wide variety. Some explosives are proximity, others are remote and some of them can't even be picked up (bug). No matter though because they all explode which is what you want them to do, right?
| Remote Explosive
| The Remote Explosive is one the most common explosive for the first half of the game. You can find it in multiple places and it is very useful. You can throw it like most other similarly shaped objects and then detonate it or you can simply pull the right trigger to drop it where you are. |
| Proximity Mine Type 1
| While the two mines pack the same punch, the type 1 mine is not armed until you throw it while the type 2 mine is armed at the beginning of a level. The game handles these as separate objects. This type of mine can be thrown and after a short period will detonate if anyone is nearby. |
| Proximity Mine Type 2
| The type 2 mine is essentially the same mine as the type 1 except that it's already armed. You find these primarily at Dexter Industries and in Dexter's Penthouse in Blackwater Park. Be careful because while the sudden explosions might be funny, the uncontrolled nature can leave you dead. |
| TNT | At the moment, TNT is not collectable. It is one of the scenery objects on the level Countdown and when you are disguised as a Blackwater Guard, you can use it to hide. Probably as a result of this, you can't pick up any of the TNT as you were intended to be able to do. |
| C4
| The C4 can operate similarly to the remote explosive. It can be thrown, dropped and used as a melee weapon but where it varies is that when you detonate it, the C4 won't explode for another 15 seconds. While this might make sense, this limits its effectiveness compared to the Remote Explosive. |
