The last game in the series - Hitman: Blood Money - ended with Diana Burnwood helping Agent 47 to fake his own death and escape The Franchise, after which his whereabouts is unknown.
The first trailer for Hitman: Absolution shows Agent 47 storming a safe-house and confronting a showering Diana. It has been confirmed that 47 will indeed kill Diana during one of the early mission in Absolution, but that Diana will make a dying request of 47 - to protect and find a girl called Victoria - which he will seek to fulfil.
Agent 47 will then find himself in the middle of a dark conspiracy, based in the United States of America, and will undertake a personal journey to search for the truth as, all the while, the ICA seek to kill him.
Absolution's primary antagonist will be Blake Dexter - a new character in the series - who will be voice by the actor Keith Carradine.
