Melon seeds are usually found in the chests around a mob spawner. The best way to find these are search underground caves. It can take quite a while to find them though. Make sure you bring armor, plenty of food and torches, and a sword.

It's a big hope though I don't know that it could ever happen. Ultimately, the problem is that the PC version of the game is updated instantly and with regularity whereas the Xbox version has to first go through Microsoft certification. For Minecraft, they MAY be able to get through it a little bit faster but for regular updates, I suspect that this wouldn't happen (and it would cost Mojang some money).

Ultimately, the two version of the game couldn't really have the same version of the software running at the same time for very long at all.
