After being defeated by Red in the Indigo Plateau Blue became the leader of the Viridian City with its position open with Giovanni’s disappearance. Blue unlike other gym leaders has no type preferences; he uses in the first match an Arcanine, Machamp, Pidgeot, Gyarados, Rhydon and Exeggutor in the rematch his Pokemon are Arcanine, Machamp, Pidgeot, Exeggutor, Rhyperior and Tyranitar.
