Pokemon HeartGold/Pokemon SoulSilver - Pokeathlon Dome

The Pokeathlon Dome is connected directly to the National Park and is north of Goldenrod City. Inside the dome you can sign up for five different sections Stamina, Speed, Jump, Power and Skill each have three events that use at least that skill. When you sign up for an section you make a team of three Pokemon to use during its events, each Pokemon have a ranking of 1-5 for each section which is determined by battle stats and nature. In each event you will be competing with 3 other NPC trainers to earn points, the trainer with the most points after all three events wins. After it’s over you will receive the points you earned during the contest which can be exchanged for prizes like Fire Stones and Rare Candy.

Hurdle Dash: This event your three Pokemon will be going down a track with hurdles on them at the same time, you must get your Pokemon over the hurdles by tapping them with the stylus. This event is used in both the Speed and Jumping sections.

Ring Drop: One of your Pokemon will be placed in the ring with 3 other Pokemon, your goal is to knock off the other Pokemon to gain points. During this event there are two ways to knock off opposing Pokemon, you either swipe your stylus to make your Pokemon ram them or tap to jump and slam down on top of them. In this battle you are able to switch Pokemon by hitting the switch button, this event is only in the Stamina section.

Snow Throw: In this event you control all three of your Pokemon and your goal is to hit any of the opponents Pokemons with a snow ball. Unlike other events your Pokemon can’t move, you tap on your Pokemon to make a bigger snowball and flick to throw it in a direction. When a Pokemon gets hit by a snowball they get fatigued and could cause them to faint for a few seconds. This event is only part of the Skill section.

Lamp Jump: During this event all three of your Pokemon will be placed in a pachinko style arena where you get your Pokemon to jump at lights to gain points. Each time your Pokemon does a new jump each light he hits gives him an extra point, also if your Pokemon collide they will be stunned for a few seconds. This event is only in the Jump section.

Relay Run: This event pits one of your Pokemon against one Pokemon from the other trainers in a race to see who can do the most laps. Each time you tap your Pokemon it will move forward, along the way there will be obstacles to slow you down and other contestants Pokemon. During this event the more your Pokemon runs the more tired it will get, you will need to switch your Pokemon out so they don’t faint. This event is in Speed and Stamina sections.

Block Smash: In this event you are using one Pokemon at a time to smash as many blocks as you can in the time limit. You simply tap the block to smash it, the longer you smash the more fatigued your Pokemon will become so you will need to switch them out when needed. This event is only in the Power section.

Circle Push: In this event all of your Pokemon are controllable, there are multiple rounds in this event. Each round a few circles will appear on the ground each with their own point worth, whichever Pokemon are in the circle when the round ends gets the points for their trainer. After all six rounds are over they total the points up, this event is only in the Power section.

Disc Catch: This event is located on pier in the middle of the water, the pier is sectioned into different point areas with the higher point areas having less space. Discs will come from north to south your goal with your Pokemon is to catch them in the higher point areas, to jump in this game is to tap and like others you can knock your opponents off the pier to stun them for a few seconds. This event is only in the Jump section.

Pennant Capture: During this event your goal is to recover as many flags as you can back to the finish line while competing with your opponents. Only one of your Pokemon are out at a time where try to capture or steal as many flags as you can, after you return your next Pokemon comes out and repeats the process. This event is used in Speed and Skill sections.

Goal Roll: The final event is a fourway game of soccer, your goal is to score on any of your opponents and keep from getting scored on. You control all three of your Pokemon you can flick them so they charge in that direction, if your Pokemon happens to get hit by a ball they will get stunned for a few seconds. For every goal you get will give you a point (unless it’s a gold ball which gives you two points) likewise each time you get scored on you lose a point, there are no negative points the lowest you can be is 0. This event is used in Power and Skill sections.
