The Safari Zone is located in the westernmost point in Johto, you don’t gain access to the Safari Zone until after you heal Amphy in the Glitter Lighthouse. You pay 500 to get into the Safari Zone, upon entering you will receive 30 Safari Balls. Until you run out of balls, leave the zone or choose to retire you won’t be able to leave. In the Safari Zone are wild Pokemon, but instead of battling these Pokemon you have three options to choose from. Use a rock which makes them easier to catch but more likely to run away, use bait which makes them harder to catch but more likely to stay and use a ball to catch the Pokemon. Unlike any other Safari Zones this one is completely customizable, you get to choose what terrain is in the zone and where it’s located. There are certain Pokemon that live in different terrains and come out at different times of the day.
