Professor Oak is Pokemon researcher from Pallet Town in Kanto, Oak mostly focuses on Pokemon and human relationships. After you beat the Pokemon Leauge he will give you ticket to ride the S.S Aqua which leads to the Kanto region, also after you get all 16 badges Oak will let you have a Bulbasaur, Squirtle or Charmander.
