God of War: Ascension is a third-person action-adventure game, developed by Santa Monica Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It will be released on the Playstation 3 on March 12, 2013 in North America, on March 14, 2013 in Japan and on March 15, 2013 in Europe.
God of War: Ascension is chronologically the first game in the God of War series. It is set six months after Kratos murders his wife and daughter in a rage, when he is still serving Ares. Kratos seeks redemption for his past sins to try and break free of his bond with Ares. The primary antagonists of the game are the Furies, whom Kratos must defeat to free himself from Ares' control.

Gameplay
God of War: Ascension is a third-person action adventure game, similar to the previous games in the series. The gameplay focuses on combo-based combat, platforming and puzzles throughout the game. Kratos will once again be the main character, utilizing the Blades of Chaos to deliver punishing hits against his enemies.
Equipment
The following pages contains information on every piece of equipment and upgrade that Kratos will acquire throughout the game. They will be listed with a short description, where they are acquired, as well as each level, how many red orbs it takes to upgrade to the next level and the new moves learned.

As with the previous God of War games, there are collectibles to be found, including the series' staples of Gorgon Eyes and Phoenix Feathers, as well as a new one in Decayed Chests. The following pages contain the locations of all of the collectibles in the game.

Development
Although God of War III was confirmed to be the end of the God of War trilogy, the possibility of more games in the God of War franchise was always left open. Rumours started appearing in early 2011 that a new God of War game would be released in 2012, and would feature online multiplayer.

Cheats
When you push the right analog stick in any direction, Kratos will roll to evade attacks, but there is normally a second or so after rolling before you can roll again. If you press the Square button to attack while rolling, Kratos will start attacking as soon as the roll is done. The premise is to roll again before Kratos does the attack and if done right, you can do this infinitely.
