The jump ability is the most basic ability in the list. Coupled with this ability is the ability to perform a second jump in mid-air though the ability to Enemy Step off of enemies doesn't come standard (usually the reverse is true). Jump will of course be crucial in almost all situations. You will be required to jump up to ledges, across gaps and you'll have to jump quite frequently in combat. While this ability may seem trivial at first, it's important to keep in mind that the game was specifically designed to encourage aerial combat.
Jump has two upgrades though you start the game with one of them already purchased. Double Jump will let you perform a second jump off of a wall or in mid air and is useful for a little extra height.
The second ability is much more interesting. Enemy Step lets you jump off of any enemy and this resets your double jump so you can perform another double jump. Aside from the fact that this has interesting applications for getting around certain areas, it can also be chained with the Ophion Demon Pull. Jump into the air and pull an enemy up. Enemy Step off of them, double jump, and then pull them up again. You can perform this until you hit something or the ground becomes to far away to pull the enemy up to you.
