Outposts are small camps of enemies that control the presence of enemies in the area, which is shown on your map as the red color. You will know an outpost by the red flag icon on your map, as well as black smoke in the air. Killing every enemy in the outpost will liberate, allowing the Rakyat to occupy it. Additionally, liberating an outpost will unlock additional quests as well as reducing the number of enemies you will encounter in that region.
When you liberate an outpost, you will always get a base of 500 XP. However, if you liberate the outpost without any of the enemies raising an alarm, you will get 550 XP. The best option comes when you liberate the camp without being detected at all, which will reward you with 1500 XP. Note that dogs and other animals do not count as being detected.
Every outpost will have an alarm, which can be triggered by alerted enemies to bring in reinforcements. You can go up to an alarm, undetected, and disable it, which will shut down all alarms in that outpost. If you shoot an alarm, only that particular alarm will be disabled.
Every single outpost you liberate can be used as a fast travel spot. These safe houses in the outposts will have automated stores, where you can sell your loot and buy/equip new weapons.
