The Shop is where you can buy weapons, items and even maps that show you where items/collectibles are on your map. You first gain access to the shop during Down In Amanaki Town, where you buy your first weapon, the 1911 handgun. As you progress through the story and do various other things, like free outposts and acquire collectibles, more items will become unlocked at the shop. Note that as you activate Radio Towers, the costs of weapons will be removed and offered for free.

Amanaki through Hubert Shore are unlocked pretty early in the game, but the rest of them won't be unlocked until later in the game.

SIGNATURE WEAPONS
Signature weapons are special variations of pre-existing weapons, with better stats and set attachments, as well as paint jobs. Unlike normal weapons, these do not become free and are unlocked by various methods, such as collecting Relics, for example.
