Academia -400AF-
Zenobia Fragment - You get the Zenobia fragment by defeating the enemy of the same name during the main story. This is towards the end of your time in Academia 400AF.
Academic Rank: Paradox Professor - For this fragment, you must collect each of the Travel Guide fragments from the woman near Chocolina's Shop in the SE portion of the map. After you have searched every map and highlighted every area (even the ones that seem impossible to reach), you will get this fragment. NOTE: If you go to Serendipity after getting this fragment, you will be able to get the Battle Mania Fragment Skill which will make rare monsters appear far more frequently.
Travel Guide: New Bodhum - To get this, you must fully explore all of New Bodhum in all of its time periods. If you are only missing a small amount, the most likely spots to be missing are the tip of the pier leading into the ocean and the platform outside of NORA House that wraps around the left and right side. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.
Travel Guide: Bresha Ruins - For this, you must fully explore the Bresha Ruins. You must explore the ruins in each timeline because each one has a different section that you can't reach in the others. If you are missing any areas, make sure that you've gotten the part N of lamentable rest (300AF), to the far E behind a bunch of debris (100AF), the grassy patch (where Graviton Core Beta is), and the various catwalks and tunnels around the map. Lastly, make sure that you hit Atlas' fingertips in the main excavation area by taking a Chocobo up to the top of the S catwalk. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.
Travel Guide: Yaschas Massif - You must fully explore Yaschas Massif in all of its timelines for this fragment. The only significant areas of note are the area beside the Command Center and the little plateau to the N of the Spotlight area. To get to the one near the Command Center, you must go to it in a timeline where you have access to that catwalk that goes over the Command Center (1XAF is just fine). Take a couple steps past the barrier and on you right should be a hole in the fence so you can explore the area under the catwalk. For the plateau, take a Chocobo and approach the Spotlight area from the N. As you come around the corner moving along the N path, you should have to go down a little hill and on the left, you should be able to see the top of the plateau. From here, you have to hold the jump button to glide over to the top of the plateau. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.
Travel Guide: Oerba - You spend a significant amount of time exploring Oerba piece by piece but there are a few spots you might be missing that are keeping you from getting this fragment. Make sure that you explore inside the building SW of Chocolina and the catwalk that wraps around the back of it (accessible from the E outside part of the building). Also, there is a room in the Schoolhouse that is only accessible from the top floor though I'm not sure it counts. You must go to the top floor and drop in through a broken window to get to it and the Treasure Orb inside the room. Also make sure you explore all of the Ashensand area during the 400AF timeline. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.
Travel Guide: Sunleth Waterscape - Fully explore Sunleth Waterscape for this fragment. You can actually explore the entire area in 300 AF. Most of the map is pretty easy but the two areas to watch out for are an area on the W side of the map (S of the Woodwraith ride) that can only be accessed by two vines, both of which are invisible. You must find and use both vines to explore the entire area. The other is at a section SE of where you fought His Royal Ripeness. There is a path that leads SE from a Time Gate. If you take the lower path, you will find a Treasure Orb and a dead end. If you take the higher route, you'll find a path that leads over some branches and vine. Once you get there, hop down to the lower level and make your way back. You won't be able to make a loop unfortunately so when you've explored, return to the upper level and take the branches again. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.
Travel Guide: Academia - To fully explore Academia, you actually have to complete two maps. The first is the normal 400/4XXAF map. Between the two, you'll be able to explore most of the map. It won't be hard to figure out how to get into a dark spot, just be vigilant about looking over your maps and be sure to go into the various shops that are only open in 4XXAF. The other map is the map of 500 AF with all the spinning blocks. This is a little frustrating but take your time getting from platform to platform and you'll have explored most of the map. The only spots to watch out for are a couple of platforms that are much lower in the NW and NE parts of the map. You'll have to go to the end of a block, jump and fall to these little square platforms. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.
Travel Guide: Augusta Tower - Augusta Tower isn't hard to explore. While in the map, just make sure you use the shoulder buttons to go up and down through the different levels of the map. Both timelines are important though because each one covers a different set of floors (12 - 15 for 300AF and 49 - 52/Top Floor in 200AF). Most of 200AF shouldn't be a problem because you can take the central elevator to each floor once you've beaten the boss, you may just have to turn some of the rooms to access certain parts of the map. The lower levels can be a little tricky. Firstly, you need to explore the 13th floor which you only get the access key for by obtaining the fragments in 200AF. To get to the 13th floor, you must take the central elevator down from the 15th floor. You can't reach an even numbered floor from an odd numbered floor through the central elevator (and the reverse is true). To get between the two sets of floors, you have to use the small elevator on the outer ring that goes between floor 14 and 15, then use the central elevator to get to the other floors. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.
Travel Guide: Vile Peaks - Exploring the Vile Peaks in both timeless will give you this fragment. The Vile Peaks are actually very easy to explore. Just be sure to explore the N section of the area in 10AF because you can't access it in 200AF. Otherwise, you should manage to explore the entire map just by making a lap. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.
Travel Guide: Archylte Steppe - The Archylte Steppe only has a couple of difficult places to explore. This first part that might be tough is the Clearwater marshes. To get to them, you have to make the weather cloudy (you gain access to a weather machine during the story) and then explore the SW part of the plains near the W part of Grave Ridge for a phased cactuar statue in a small tornado. You can use that to teleport to the marshes or you can gravity jump (if you have the fragment skill). The other section that is a little strange is at the far S end in the Grave Ridge area. There will be a tall pillar that you can reach the top of but you have to explore it. You'll have to first find all of the cactuar statues scattered around the Steppe to unlock the use of the Hunter's chocobos. Then you'll have to climb the S side of the ridge to find a little plateau to glide from. This pillar is also where you fight Yomi.
The locations of the red cactuar statues are: 1) directly south of the hunter's camp in the middle of the plains. 2) Far S of the Hunter's camp in Grave Ridge will be a giant stone cactuar statue (which does nothing) but behind it will be this smaller red statue. 3) This statue is actually gold in appearance but it shows on the map as a red statue. This is the aforementioned teleportation statue in the W part of Grave Ridge during cloudy weather. It will be phased and in a tornado. 4) In Clearwater Marsh, this statue will be in the water just N of the central island. Should appear while it's sunny I believe. 5) In the SW corner of the Clearwater Marshes. It will be on land but only appears when it is Stormy out (cloudy, dark, lightning but no rain).
Defeating the three Gigantuars will allow you to unlock the other Time Gate. The locations of the green Cactuar Statues are: 1) SW of the hunter's camp and NW of Grave Ridge will be a bunch of cacti with this statue in the middle. 2) Behind a giant stone in the NE part of Clearwater Marsh when it is Sunny. 3) SW of the second statue, there will be a little plateau that sticks out over the water. This may be phased and only appear during a certain weather condition (rainy?).
Travel Guide: A Dying World - This map is actually pretty easy to explore but it's large. Buy a bunch of Greens from Chocolina and hop on a chocobo to save yourself some time and sanity. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.
Graviton Core Delta - After defeating Zenobia, find Chocolina's Shop. Immediately N from here is a red ramp that goes down but the ramp is moving up towards you. You have to continually jump down this ramp to get to the bottom where you will find a dead end and this fragment.
