Dragon Fruit is quite a rare and valuable fruit. When raw, it isn't particularly better than most other foods but when cooked, the amount of health it restores is quite significant. It can also be used to make the Dragonpie from the crockpot which restores 40 Health and 75 Hunger.
Getting a Dragon Fruit requires you to get it as a seed and plant it in a farm. Regular seeds will have about a 5% chance of producing Dragon Fruit. Once grown, however, you can feed it to a bird in a Birdcage to produce Dragon Fruit Seeds. Doing this has a chance of producing 2-3 seeds which increase the amount of Dragon Fruit you can grow.
