Jerky can be made by using a Drying Rack with an uncooked piece of Meat. After that, it will take two days for the Meat to turn into a piece of Jerky. Once completed, collect the meat and you can carry it with you until you need it.
While the Jerky doesn't provide any extra nourishment, it does give you additional health and a good sanity boost. Because of the long shelf life of Jerky coupled with the health and sanity boost, this is a great item for long trips into dangerous areas.
