Stealth, depending on your playstyle, can make up a huge part of the gameplay. Players can sneak up behind guards and other enemies, and stealthily kill them. Corvo can take out enemies violently, or he can take them out with non-lethal means. There is always two different ways to take out an enemy, and you are not restricted to one method. Experiment with powers and weapons to get creative in your methods.
One of the big parts of being stealthy is making sure none of the enemies around you notice your presence. The enemies' line of sight is designated by a cone, and if you're in that line of sight, no matter the lighting levels, they will see you. As long as Corvo is out of their sight, such as in the rafters or behind cover, the enemies will have trouble spotting you.
