Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is an sandbox action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North (formerly DMA Design) and published by Rockstar Games.
It is the second 3D game in the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise and sixth original title overall. It debuted in North America on October 29, 2002 for the PlayStation 2 and was later ported to the Xbox, and Microsoft Windows in 2003. It was made available on Steam on January 4, 2008, and on the Mac App Store on August 25, 2011. Vice City was preceded by Grand Theft Auto III and followed by Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Vice City takes heavy infuence on the mid-1980s, and the story is similar to the 1983 movie and box office hit, Scarface. Added to that, the features of the fictional city, such as the Diaz Mansion/Vercetti Estate and The Malibu Club, and the secret Apartment 3C in the game, bears references to the movie.
