At the Hyman Memorial Stadium in northwestern Downtown, you may find a billboard advertising an upcoming event as you drive up to it. You can find steps up to the main entrance to the arena, where there is an open door below the same poster. Head inside to begin a Hyman Memorial Event.
The doors will only open at 8PM, and remain open until midnight. You will need to check which event you are trying by looking for the advertising boards. All three must be done for 100% completion. It is recommended that you buy the Hyman Condo property so you have a save point in close proximity to the arena.
There are three events in total, and each varies in difficulty.
Blood Ring
You are racing in a Bloodring Banger, a souped-up version of the regular Glendale road car. This one is effectively a cross between a demo derby and checkpoint collection. You have to collect checkpoints to get your timer over a minute before it runs out. Each checkpoint will credit you with 15 seconds, and you have to battle past some opponents for it. If your car sustains damage, repair icons can be picked up if you need them.
The event may seem like a shambles, but if you solely concentrate on heading for the checkpoints, you should be fine. Collecting the repair icons can be a waste of time, so only pick them up if you really need it. When you do get the timer pushed over your target, the event is completed.
Reward: $1,000
Dirt Ring
You are using a Sanchez dirt bike to collect 27 checkpoints in as fast a time as you can. The checkpoints are located around the central dirt track, on thin ledges and at the peak of loop-de-loop tracks.
The requirement for this side-mission is to simply finish. If you want to a larger reward, though, you want to aim for the fastest time possible. The problem checkpoints are definitely the ones on the precipice of the ledges, but lining up as straight as you can is strongly advised to get them. The other difficult ones are a handful that are located on the track, which require a wheelie for collection. Otherwise, this is a simple checkpoint collection mission.
Reward: $50,000 (under 5 minutes), $10,000 (5-10 minutes), or $5,000 (over 10 minutes)
Hot Ring
You are racing NASCAR style in a Hotring Racer. You start in 16th place, and you have to work your way up to at least 3rd to be rewarded. However, 100% completion requires you to finish 1st. You have to deal with a number of issues.
First of all, your opponents are complete idiots. It is likely that they will take you out, and your Hotring Racer will easily get smashed up. You want to be careful, and go slow through the chaos, as you are less likely to get completely smashed up if you travel slower.
Other than that, luck will play a part, but save before you set out to do the event, and reload if you fail. When you finish 1st, you can call it a day.
Your ultimate reward is $5,000 for 1st place. Finishing 2nd will earn you $1,000, and 3rd place will earn you $500.
