When you gain control aboard the ship to New England, you'll be able to get up and wander around the ship. There are a few people to talk to on the ship and a couple of games to play if you so desire. None of these are actually required but they are interesting conversations. When you are ready, make your way through the hold to the stairs leading to the deck. Climb up to the deck and find the group of sailors talking near one of the masts.
You'll listen to small bit of the conversation and then a fight will start between you and the sailors. Here you will learn how to fight. At the moment, there are two buttons that you need to be aware of, the attack button (X/Square) and the defense button (B/O). Hitting the attack button will swing at your opponent and holding the defense button will set you up to parry enemy attacks. If you don't hold the defense button and instead hit it at just the right moment, you will create a chance for a counter attack which for most enemies will allow you to finish them in a single blow. If you do this correctly (just as the red arrow above their head is filled with white in the center), time will slow down for a moment allowing for you to make your counter attack.
For the first fight with Graves, hold the defense button to parry his blocks until the prompt on screen changes to attack. When it does, repeatedly attack him to take him down. The second sailor will constantly be on defense so you'll have to wait for him to attack, hit the defense button to set up a counter attack and then hit him with a counter attack. This will take him down and then the first sailor will return for another match up.
Graves will take a swing at you and if you counter his swing, he'll take out a knife and start again. Wait for him to come at you again and this time, set up the counter by using the defense button but counter by hitting the jump button (A/X). You'll disarm him and take his knife, ending the fight.
The captain will appear and lead you into his cabin to talk. He will task you with finding out more about the possible mutiny on board. Not bad for only your second day on the ship. When you are done exploring, head back to your cabin to turn in.
Day 28
You'll gain control in your cabin again. As before, you can wonder around and talk to the sailors or play games. In the middle of the hold will be a man sitting on a barrel. He'll direct you to talk to the Doctor and the Cook who you may have met previously.
Talking to the Doctor doesn't really turn up anything but if you track down James in the galley, he'll be a little more helpful. He will lead you up above for a chat. The last person to check with is the pilot of the ship. Talk to him and something unusual will happen. Go below deck and then to the green area. When you get there, you'll be prompted to activate Eagle Vision again as you did at the theater (L3). You'll see a barrel light up brightly. Go over to investigate and when you are done, return to your cabin for the night.
Day 33
You'll start off on deck instead of in your cabin this time. After offering to help, you'll be sent below deck to get out of the way. You'll bump into Mills below deck. After a quick exchange, you'll be handed a sword and you'll have to fight. This combat won't be much different than your fist fighting earlier but be careful of his extended range. Wait for him to attack and then counter the attack to end the fight quickly.
Later that day, you'll be up on the deck and be sent to fix a sail. Go to the front of the ship and on the left side will be some rigging ropes for the sails. Interact with them to secure them. Another set of ropes will need securing behind the pilot. When you've taken care of those, another set of ropes will loosen. Fix this last bundle and then you'll be sent to the fore mast.
Go up to the mast and run up the front of it to start climbing. This will take you to the top of the mast. Get up there and you'll have to go out to the right. Cut the rope to drop the sails. When you do, James is going to have a bit of a fall but you can save him. Follow the broken pieces of mast towards James but do so quickly. There's a constraint that has you doing this in less than 40 seconds. If you hold the run button and push towards him, you should have no problem getting to him in time.
Day 72
Once again, you'll gain control in your cabin. It seems you are a little bit restless so make your way up to the deck for some fresh air. After approaching the captain, you'll be sent up to the crow's nest to see the port and end the sequence.
