You'll leave your village and have to make your way east to find the man who will train you. The first half of this memory is going to be almost all traveling. You're going to have to walk, run, and climb your way to your destination. Along the way, you're going to want to watch out for large animals and long falls. If you do happen to fall, however, don't be disheartened. There's always a way down and sometimes, the fall will set a checkpoint in a more favorable place. Keep in mind that when you come to a body of water, it is acceptable to dive into it to safely descend the cliff. Just be careful with how far out you have to jump.
When you reach the Davenport homestead, approach the door and knock to meet the owner of the land. After being turned away, it will start to rain. Take shelter in the nearby stable and rest. In the morning, try the front door again. When this is unsuccessful, you'll try the backdoor and eventually the door up on the balcony above. Again you'll be unsuccessful so head back to the stables and rest once again.
You'll awake to find some trouble with a few soldiers looking for Mr. Davenport. These enemies will fight just the same as the red coats from before and shouldn't be much of a problem for you but it's a good chance to get a feel for the differences of how Conner moves. He's a little bit faster and more aggressive with his attacks but it's good to know the timing for setting up chain attacks.
After the fight, Achilles will lead you inside. Follow him through the house and eventually down into the basement.
