The first step in creating the Clarion is to go to Al Mamoon. Go to the Cowlipha and get the Holy Wood, then it's time to head to Ding Dong Dell. As you approach the gate to King Tom's, you notice that the Holy Wood seems to be missing. It turns out that the item was sold to the Cawtermaster's Store by a mouse with glasses.
The mouse is located up the stairs across from the Swift Solutions and as you're speaking to him, he reminds you of Phil back in Oliver's world. That means it's time to cast Gateway to go back, but make sure you save beforehand and stay at an inn in case you need some rest. Talk to Phil and it turns out he's possessed by a Nightmare! It's boss time!
| BOSS: PHIL'S NIGHTMARE |
| Phil's Nightmare can do some decent damage, and quick, especially with its melee attacks. It only has two Tricks, which don't do too much Ill Will hits a point and does dark damage, which isn't too bad. Rain of Terror, while not damaging (only around 50 or so to all), does inflict a random status ailment. Remember that it will alternate between the two moves everytime it teleports. Naturally, it is weak to light, so Arrow of Light is a great spell to use. |
After the battle is over and as you're talking with Phil, you'll be able to take a piece of your heart. Do that and give the ambition to Phil, then when you have control, go back to Ding Dong Dell to talk to Pip the mouse, who is in the same spot as before.
With the Holy Wood back in your possession, go and talk to King Tom. He carves the Holy Wood and now it's time to go to Hamelin to speak with Marcassin. After some tag teaming, the Clarion is complete and you can now make your way through the Miasma Marshes.
Note that you can get some ambition from people in Al Mamoon, Castaway Cove, The Fairyground (2 pieces here) and Perdida. There are new Errands to do with these ambition pieces, which are located in Ding Dong Dell, Al Mamoon, Castaway Cove, Hamelin and Perdida.
