Incy Napcap Pom Pom Sore Boar Worker Bumbler | 1) Sandwich 2) Beast Fangs 3) Sandwich 4) Iced Coffee |
At the beginning of this dungeon, start off by taking the right path at the first split to find a red chest with a Sandwich in it. At the next split, you can't go south yet, so take the other path to view a short cutscene, showing off the mushrooms in this place.
Go up the mushrooms and then go up the second batch a little ways forward to find a broken down robot and a red chest containing the Beast Fangs accessory. Go back down and follow the other path, ignoring the mushrooms as they don't lead to anything.
Keep following this path until you get to another split, with the east way taking you to a dead end with a red chest that has a Sandwich. The southern path also leads to a dead end with a red chest, which contains an Iced Coffee. The next paths that lead north and south have mushrooms that aren't grown, so you can't go those ways, so continue west.
You'll get to a slightly open area to the north, where you'll find a blue chest containing a Hoarfrost Harpoon (use Spring Lock to open it). Follow the other path all the way to the end to find a familiar egg. After the little cutscene, go up to the tree and cast Rejuvenate. A Seed Sprite will pop out, and you can't do anything with it right now, so head towards the next star.
When you get there, the same Seed Sprite will pop out from behind some bushes and will want you to follow it. It will lead you to another page of the Wizard's Companion, containing the Quicken Growth spell. The Seed Sprite will also join your party, but the bad thing is it starts out at level 1, so it will require some leveling before being useful. One good thing is that it learns a healing spell at level 8, so you should try to level it up to around there if you can.
Now that you have Quicken Growth, you can go back to those mushrooms that weren't big enough and make them bigger so you can jump on them. Head to the north/south intersection, going north first to make the mushrooms there bigger, which will help when you have to get back to the Ding Dong Dell area. Make the southern ones bigger, then continue along this path until you get to a Waystone (you can't open purple chests yet), save and get ready for your next boss.
BOSS: GLADIATAUR
This boss can hit pretty fast and somewhat hard, depending on which Familiar you're using, although you only have a choice of three, and Mite is probably your strongest. It can hit you with its shield or sword, as well as charge you, knocking you to the ground. Its big moves are Everblade, which is a horizontal sword slash, so make sure you defend if you see it coming. Its other attack is Savage Swipe, which is a vertical shockwave.
Once its health goes below 50%, it will ditch its sword and shield and look like it's going berserk. Not long after to goes into this mode, Drippy will jump up to a cliff and mention guarding, so defend, as it will unleash Headlong Rush, a move that can hurt if you're not defending. After unleashing this attack, Drippy will pick up its shield and throw it at it, stunning it for a good while, so that's your chance to attack.
With the battle over, head to the dried up spring and cast Rejuvenate on it, bring it back to life. With some new pages unlocked in the Wizard's Companion, you can exit the forest to the south and start heading to Al Mamoon.
