If need be, use the Waystone on the right to heal and save before heading downstairs. When you get in front of the snake statue, your entire party is turned into frogs! Of course, your Familiars are fine, so if you get into battles, you'll have to rely on them. For now, don't worry too much and just follow the rainbow frog. Once you get to the room with the different tiles on the floor, head after the frog and when you get to the magic circle on the ground, you'll be turned back to normal. Note that if you go back in front of the statue again, you'll be turned back into frogs.
Open the red chest ahead of you for an Espresso. The red chest in the second room, on the south end, contains a Sage's Secret. The blue chest in the middle of the same room, under some vines, contains a Pie on the Bone. That's all you can get for now, so head back to the ground with the tiles on the floor and take the north path (it was too dark when you were frogs). Use the Waystone to heal/save, then cast Spring Lock to open the door.
Bring Prince Ali to the magic circle that turned you back to normal, only to find it doesn't work. It seems the only option is to defeat Aepep, so go back to the room with the tiles and stand in the middle. Cast Puppet String and just switch the statues to make the flooded room drain. Go back and find the Nix Trap on the ground, using Levitate to avoid it and open the blue chest there for a Serpent Key. Go up to the grate at the north end and open the green chest for a Storm Serpent Scales. You can also use the pillars at the top of the stairs to reach a red chest with a Green Man's Cloak in it.
When you're ready, go back into the room with the statues and use the key on the lock (don't forget to save and heal at the Waystone near Ali's cell). It's time for a boss fight!
| BOSS: AEPEP |
| This boss isn't too bad, although it can inflict Curse with Death Rattle. Its too normal Tricks are the biggest problems, with Black Bolt hitting in a straight line and Serpent Strike hitting in an arc in front of it. Not that far into the battle, Drippy will chime in and say that using Burden will help. This will basically stop Aepep from moving at all, giving you a chance to do as much damage as possible in a few seconds. If you get a Golden Glim, it is best to have Oliver use it, since the boss is weak to fire (and light also). |
You get the Moon Stone after the battle, and Ali has returned to normal. It's now time to get the second stone, so Travel to Hamelin.
